The welding of Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) casing involves several steps to ensure a strong and leak-free joint. Here are the measures typically taken during the welding process:

6. POST-WELD HEAT TREATMENT: After welding, perform any required post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) to relieve residual stresses and improve the mechanical properties of the weld joint. This helps to prevent cracking and leakage.


7. INSPECTIONS AND TESTING: Conduct visual inspections, non-destructive testing (such as ultrasonic testing or radiographic testing), and pressure testing to verify the quality and integrity of the welded casing. Any defects or leaks should be identified and addressed.


8. QUALIFICATION AND CERTIFICATION: Ensure that the welders involved in casing welding are properly qualified and certified. They should have the necessary skills, training, and experience to perform the welding task correctly.


By following these measures, the welding of OCTG casing can be carried out effectively, resulting in strong and leak-free joints that meet the required standards and specifications.
