How to prevent decarburization of spiral welded pipe

The service life of the spiral welded pipe is related to the surface decarburization of the spiral welded pipe. If the surface is decarburized, the strength and wear resistance of the spiral welded pipe will be reduced, which will directly affect the service life of the spiral welded pipe. If the decarburization layer on the spiral welded pipe is not cleaned, the hardness and wear resistance of the surface layer of the spiral welded pipe will be correspondingly reduced, and during the quenching process, the surface of the workpiece will be caused by the volume change of the inner and outer layers. cracks are formed.

How to prevent the decarburization of the spiral welded pipe, the solutions are as follows:

To solve the problem of decarburization on the surface, the main thing is to deal with the heat treatment process, because the decarburization and the oxidation of the spiral welded pipe are carried out at the same time. This improves decarburization.

The medium that causes the surface decarburization of the spiral welded pipe is mainly oxidizing gases such as oxygen, water vapor, and carbon dioxide. When these gases come into contact with the heated spiral welded pipe, it will cause oxidation and decarburization of the spiral welded pipe. Therefore, control the carbon dioxide and carbon dioxide in the furnace. The proportion of carbon monoxide is also very important.

It is also very effective to add nitrogen, a protective gas, into the spiral welded pipe forging furnace. Nitrogen can dissipate some oxidizing gases and reduce the decarburization of the spiral welded pipe.
